our story

Giving Tree Farms began in California during the era of the Compassionate Use Act (Proposition 215), when Chris, co-founder, was a contract farmer for dispensaries in the Bay Area. Giving Tree Farms initially focused on high-CBD varieties for the production of RSO and OG cultivars. As the number of farms grew, so did the need to run a more efficient and organized business, opening the door to a potential partnership. Here enters Courtney, the other half of Giving Tree Farms. Courtney and Chris met for the first time at a wedding, and it wasn’t long after they saw the potential of working together. Their business relationship continued to grow, and, from there, they fell deeply in love, getting married thereafter. Courtney’s background working as COO of a market research firm gave her the skill set that would take Giving Tree Farms to a whole new level, boosting their overall efficiency and internal organization.

Chris and Courtney have always been largely involved in their community, and this motivation for selflessness has spilled over into Giving Tree Farms as well. They've teamed up with other cannabis cultivators in Mendocino County through the Hive Mendocino Cooperative, showing their support of the small farmer and hoping to promote success for all in this expanding industry. They also volunteer their time at the Anderson Valley Food Bank and donate 1% of their profits to organizations that support preserving the people, culture and environment of Mendocino County.

GANJA STYLE

Although Giving Tree Farms started as an entirely outdoor-grown operation more than a decade ago, they have now fully transitioned to greenhouses. With a focus on maintaining and integrating smart farming techniques, they aim to boost sustainability and efficiency around the farm, ensuring a consistent, high-quality product every time.

VALUES

At Giving Tree Farms, accountability is one of our core values. We model the behaviors that we want to see in our organization, impressing that accountability is not a one-time, sometime thing; it's an all-time thing. We believe that accountability cannot be delegated, and each of us is accountable to each other. We also adhere to a strict no asshole policy.

Another day on the farm; another day in paradise.
